Lagos Life Sims: What It Is, Is It Real, and vs The Sims

What is Lagos Life Sims?

“Lagos Life Sims” is what many people type when they look for Lagos Life, because the game plays like a Sims-style life sim. It is the same game that people also search for as “Lagos Life Game” and “Lagos Lifestyle Game”. The official name is just Lagos Life.

Lagos Life is a free, 18+ browser game. You make a Sim, rent a home in Lagos, work shifts, keep your needs up and pay rent every week. The game’s Terms of Use describe it as an entertainment and life-simulation game inspired by life in Nigeria. Its sign-up page sums it up as living your Lagos story with real people.

The official site is lagoslife.app. Our login and sign-up guide shows how to make an account.

How is Lagos Life different from The Sims?

They share an idea, living a simulated life, and little else.

• Setting. Lagos Life is set in Lagos, with real neighbourhood names such as Mushin, Yaba and Lekki. The Sims uses made-up neighbourhoods.
• Where you play. Lagos Life opens in a web browser, and you can add it to your phone’s home screen. The Sims is an installed game. Our install guide covers the phone steps.
• Other players. In Lagos Life everyone shares one Lagos. In The Sims you mostly play your own save.
• Money. Lagos Life uses Game Naira, a fictional in-game unit. The Sims uses Simoleons.
• Pace. Lagos Life follows the real Lagos clock, so shifts happen at fixed hours. The Sims runs on its own in-game time.

The Sims is a trademark of Electronic Arts. This wiki is not connected to The Sims, to Electronic Arts or to the makers of Lagos Life.

Is Lagos Life Game real?

Yes and no, and the difference matters.

The game is real. It is live at lagoslife.app, it has a Terms of Use and a support address, and it lists its own social accounts. A fan wiki like this one can only describe it, which is why we link you to the official site instead of copying it.

The money is not. The Terms of Use are blunt about this. Game Naira is a fictional game unit. It is not Nigerian currency, it cannot be withdrawn to a bank account, it cannot be redeemed for real money, and a big number on screen does not mean the game owes anyone that many naira.

The game also says its places, brands and institutions are simulated and are not official versions of the real ones. Treat Lagos Life as an entertainment game inspired by Nigeria, not a model of real finances.

Is Lagos Life really a multiplayer game?

It is a shared world rather than a game of teams or matches. The sign-up form says your Sim will live in the same Lagos as everyone else who signs up. The Terms of Use list public or venue chat, direct messages, profiles and player-to-player transfers as features the game may offer.

Because other players can see your username, display name and profile, pick a nickname rather than your full name. Our how to play guide covers what a normal day looks like once you are in.

Why are there so many Lagos Life sites?

A popular game attracts fan sites, and Lagos Life has many: wikis, guides and some sites that look like copies of each other. We are one of them. This site is an unofficial fan guide, it is not made by the game’s developer, and it never asks for your password.

To tell the game from a guide, check the address. The game lives at lagoslife.app and the backup address named in its Terms. Everything else, including this wiki, is a description of the game, not the game.
