How to Play Lagos Life Game: First Week, Needs and Tips

What is Lagos Life Game, and what do you do all day?

Lagos Life is a free life sim that you play in your browser. You make a Sim, move into a home in Lagos, and live from shift to shift: eat, sleep, get to work, get paid, pay rent. It is for adults only (18+). The game’s Terms of Use call it an entertainment and life-simulation game inspired by life in Nigeria.

Two things surprise new players. First, the clock is the real Lagos clock (UTC+1), so a shift that starts at 08:00 starts at 08:00 in Lagos, wherever you are. What are the six needs, and which one drops fastest?

There are six needs, and each bar falls over time. Bladder falls fastest and Social falls slowest. The full order, fastest first, is Bladder, Hunger, Fun, Energy, Hygiene, Social.

The game does not show a unit for these rates, so compare the bars with each other, not with a clock. We have not measured what an empty bar costs you, so we do not quote a penalty. Our advice is simple: eat, sleep and shower before a shift, not after it.

How does a shift turn into pay?

A career is a job with fixed shift hours on fixed days, all in Lagos time. You earn pay for each shift you work, not a salary. To take a job, open your phone and tap Jobs. 15 of the 20 careers need nothing to start. The other 5 need a skill at level 3 first.

1. Get ready. Top up hunger, energy and hygiene first.
2. Go to work. Tap Go to work at shift time, or tick Go automatically so you never miss one.
3. Win the mini-tasks. Short tasks pop up mid-shift: timing bars, sorting, tapping.
4. Get paid. Win 4 tasks in one shift to be Employee of the shift, which adds 15% to that shift’s pay.

Pay is per shift. A week’s pay is the pay per shift times the shifts you work that week, and the game takes income tax out of your pay automatically once you pass ₦1,000,000 in a week. What should I do in my first week?

Our suggested order is five moves.

1. Roll the birth lottery. Making a Sim takes five steps: Look, Personality, Dream, Birth lottery and Home. You do not choose your origin. At the fourth step the game rolls it for you, and the screen says it is decided once for your account, so starting a new life will not change it. A LAPO result gives you a ₦60,000 loan that you repay at ₦12,000 a week for 6 weeks (₦72,000 in total), a Hustle skill of 2, and skills that rise 25% faster, and then you pick Mushin or Yaba as your first home. A Nepo result gives you ₦500,000 pocket money, a furnished Lekki flat with the rent paid for you, your own car, and a Branch Manager job at a bank from day one. We do not know the odds. 2. Keep the needs bars green. Do this before every shift.
3. Take a job. Open your phone, then Jobs. Compare pay first, because the best-looking job may need a skill you do not have yet.
4. Work every shift. Missed shifts are missed pay, and shifts follow the Lagos clock.
5. Mind rent day. Rent is charged on Saturday at 9 AM. Keep that week of rent in your wallet before you spend on anything else. The homes and rent guide has every home’s price.

What are the best Lagos Life Game tips for beginners?

• Do not confuse per shift with per week. Marketer in Banking earns ₦11,600 a shift, which is ₦58,000 only if you work all 5 shifts that week.
• Do not skip rent. After 2 unpaid weeks the game serves a Quit Notice and makes you move out.
• Check a home’s total cost before you move up. Lekki costs ₦17,000 a week and ₦51,000 to move in, which is 3 weeks of rent up front.
• Read the skill note on a career. A job marked with a skill needs that skill at level 3 before you can take it. Skills rise as you practise them, and a LAPO start learns them faster.
• Know your fares. Getting around the city costs money unless you trek. The transport fare table shows what each ride costs.
• Date your numbers. The game changes over time. Every page here shows the day we last checked it against the live game.

Is Lagos Life Game free, and can you play with other people?

It is free to play. The Terms of Use say the game may also sell Game Naira for real money, but nothing in the sign-up form needs a payment, and Game Naira cannot be withdrawn or exchanged back into real money.

It is also a shared game, not a solo save. The sign-up form says your Sim will live in the same Lagos as everyone else who signs up. The Terms list public or venue chat, direct messages, profiles and player-to-player transfers as features the game may offer. They also say your username and display name may be visible to other players, so pick a nickname you are happy to share.

Are there Lagos Life Game cheats?

We found no cheat codes and no redeem-code screen. The Terms of Use rule out the usual shortcuts: bots, scripts and macros, exploiting bugs, duplicating items or currency, buying or selling accounts, and exchanging Game Naira for real money outside the game’s own features.

The allowed way to get ahead faster is dull but real: take the best job you qualify for, never miss a shift, aim for Employee of the shift, and keep your rent money safe.
